About San Jose del Cabo

Location…Location…Location

We all know the pleasure of finding that little “out of the way” place, where you find the best food, friendliest service and greatest atmosphere. If you’re vacationing on the Baja peninsula, San Jose del Cabo is the resort town version of that hidden treasure, only 20 minutes northeast from the well-known town of Cabo san Lucas.

Let’s start with the beaches. And what beaches they are! Fronting on the beautiful Sea of Cortez, San Jose del Cabo offers kayaking, Jet Ski jaunts, surfing, fishing, SCUBA diving and snorkeling…..all on one of the most expansive beaches with clear turquoise waters that will beckon you to stay and walk for miles.

For nature lovers, one of the hidden gems of the Baja region is the protected estuary on the southeast edge of the city. Nature and activity tours are one great component for the ideal family vacation, but there’s plenty of other things to keep all ages entertained. From golf to water sports, from beachside grilling to fine dining, you’ll never lack for something to enjoy.

One of the treats of choosing to stay at Blue Palms on the Beach is the convenient location…you will arrive at the airport and be in your oceanfront vacation home within 15 minutes! Lounging on your own private deck overlooking the Sea of Cortez sippin’ a cool beverage – now that’s the perfect way to start a vacation!

An easy 15 minute walk to Mega store plaza will get you everything you need from groceries to Starbucks, but if you choose a ride instead it’s only a $5 cab ride that will get you into the center of old-town San Jose for shopping and dining galore.

San Jose del Cabo is one of the most quaint, historic towns in Mexico. This will indeed be a vacation to remember!

Getting Here

Los Cabos Airport (SJD)

The airport at San Jose is small and fairly easy to manage. La Jolla is approximately 15 minutes from the airport. There are three ways to get from the airport to La Jolla – by airport shuttle, by car via the old toll-free highway, or by car via the new toll highway.

Transportation Options

Driving from the airport via New Toll Highway

The newer toll highway bypasses all local traffic. Turn left onto the highway from the airport road and travel along the toll highway for approximately 10 minutes. The tool booth is near the end of the highway and will be approximately 26 pesos. Immediately after the tool booth, you will enter into the tourist area of San Jose del Cabo. At the end of the toll road will be a large yellow metal sculpture in the middle of a roundabout. Take the right side of the “Y” intersection and travelling along the main road toward Cabo San Lucas. Make a right turn off the main road at the sign for La Jolla – which is a few exits past the large yellow iron sculpture. Turn left and go under the overpass. This road will lead you directly to the La Jolla Condominium driveway entrance and the security checkpoint. Advise the guard that you are staying in Unit #G304. Proceed left through the parking lot closest to building G.
